hi,everyone newbie here. i just recently purchase a 91 legend for my 16 yr. old son. the problem i have is that my cel & anti-lock light stays illuminated. i read in this forum about jumping the service connector to pull the codes. when i did jumper this connector i could not get the cel & anti-lock lights to blink. i also pulled the #15 fuse that is under dash & ecu fuse with no help. does anyone knows how to get the lights to blink so i could find out the codes.

Turn the car on and let it run. This is also to make sure the lights are still on and you didn't clear them out. If lights are on, jump the connector making sure you are jumping the two holes that have the wires going into them (mine has 4 holes and only two have wires
). Once you have it jumped turn the ignition to position II so that just the dash lights turn on, that is all it should take for the engine/ABS light to start blinking.

If the lights stay illuminated it sounds like the jump connector is not getting jumped? What are you using to jump the connector?

IIRC, a 91 is OBD-0, which you would pull back the carpet, and with the ignition on look for a blinking light on the ECU itself. At least this is how it is with other cars, Civics, crxes integras...

Ditto ^^ what Ari and Action stated. I have a '91 coupe and have done the
paper clip jumper. There are 4 slots on mine. When pulling my codes, I turn the engine off, place the connector; then, I start the engine while looking at the dash cluster. I believe that if one inserts a paper clip into the connector while the engine is running they will get an unpleasnt surprise. I confess I have not confirmed that personally. |
