shaving
well basically i was gonna take all the emblems off but since I got a black car now it's noticable where the emblem used to sit. any wax or anything that can clear that up.

if its the residue form the emblems you are trying to remove, a product such as goo gone should help take care of it
just make sure you wax afterwards, because the goo gone will remove anything on the paint

If you need something stronger than goo gone. Go to you local parts store and find adhesive remover, and use a plastic razor blade. They should have both.
I think you're talking about being able to see the outline of the emblem after the glue residue is removed. You're gonna have to find a good rubbing compound from 3M or Meguire's (SP?). pour a little compound on a damp wax applicator and apply the compound on the area that you want to clean up. About a minute after you apply the compound, take a clean dry cloth and remove the compound. That should take care of most of the marks. Keep applying it until it's gone.

try polishing or rubbing compound on the whole area and once you cant see the emblem outlines anymore wax that area really good with a polishing wax and it should be gone. hope this helps

one thing you have to take into account is that your paint has probably faded over time and the areas under the emblems haven't... it shouldn't be that noticeable though...
