Should I buy this one? A 93 Legend L

Guys,

I am a newbie on this forum and I kinda like to know what you think about this car that my long time mechanic has it up for sales. Well, basically it's a 1993 Legend L (I think it's an L, oh by the way, how can you tell?) The mileage is about 145,000 and the car looks decent and pretty well kept. No additional works need to be done on the car.

The asking price here is at $5200, which is really great price. But I just worry about the 145K mile engine will break down on me and it can be pretty costly. Though, after I test drove it and I felt in love right away. It's smooth, quite, and powerful.

So I'd like to know what you guys think about this one.

Thanks,

--Ed

Hmmm that will give you the Type II !! I've seen people buy these types of cars with more miles than that!! But, if the car has ever had overheating problems in the past prepare yourself for a headgasket change!! This will run you quite a pretty penny, but I'd say it's worth it!! Oh and the difference between an L and an LS is just little amenities!! LS's had better sound systems, dual power seats, standard leather seats, automatic climate control, genuine burled walnut trim, TCS Traction Control System, and different colored glass!! What color is it by the way??

You would have to get a compression and/or leak down test done...

Get a light and small mirror under the intake headers and look for any staining green or red (dried coolant)...I have seen this on legends that had blown HG.
