Someone Answer My Question About Rims Please

For those of you who have stock or aftermarket rims, has anyone ever bent one of them?... Whether it was 1pc, 2pc, or a 3Pc rim...Not anything too serious but a small bend on the outer lip or inside of the rim from hitting a pothole, etc...If so, can it be fixed easily and roughly how much does it cost? Only reason I ask is because I was thinking about purchasing a used set of rims but obviously have no way to make sure unless they are mounted on the car or taken to a shop. So for anyone who has bent a rim, please let me know if its going to be a problem in fixing and if its gonna cost me a ****load. Any information would be great. Thanks in advance.

Zube, from what I hear, rim repairs range from 75-150/wheel, depending on wheel/extent of damage. Fut would be good to contact on this

That is MISTER BBS

Thank you sir. Actually I gave him a call this afternoon and he said they could be fixed but never gave me a price range. He just said that he bent two of his BBS's and got two free as replacements since the shop was closing, and the owner had two left. Lucky guy if you ask me. I just wanted to get a second opinion though from experts such as yourself. Thanks for the info Leon, appreciate it.

Hey buddy, just glad to be of assistance. It seems that the price range is pretty consistent. I love this network we have.

Have you considered getting painting the centers black? (if they have lips)

No, I can check the rims out but without actually taking them to a shop, I have no idea. My question was in the case that I actually bought this set and ended up finding that one was slightly bent or needed to be balanced, how much would it cost? These rims I looked at are not BBS's. Leon was just referring to Fut since he has two sets of them. Thanks for the info, I'll have them checked out.

Yea.. Its definitely a good network we have. Good to have people to call and ask when you need answers fast.

And yes, I plan on getting the centers painted black. I was thinking a nice hyperblack w/ a polished lip would look real nice I don't wanna get ahead of myself though. First things first, I need to make sure these rims are good to go without any problems and then I'll think about powdercoating them. Hopefully by the end of this week, I'll have these rims on the GS and post some pics but for now, I'll keep everyone in suspense.

And my last and final question that I forgot to ask was... Is a +51 offset good for an 18x8 rim? Just want to make sure that I won't have any rubbing problems on the inside or outside. Thanks.

about how long does it take to have a rim fixed? one of my rims is slightly bent causing the steering wheel to vibrate at speeds between 55-65. it is not that big of a deal since i hardly ever drive in that range. if it takes a couple days, i will just wait until the end of summer to have it fixed. later, raky...
