In these times of ever incresing gas prices, anything that improves fuel economy goes a long way. I am now averaging 25mpg based on the below:
- New NGK V-power Plugs - New OEM-style paper air filter - Engine service using Seafoam (intake and crank-case) - Mobile 1 Synthetic (5W30) - Grounding kit - Tires inflated to 33psi - Shell V-Power gas I saw the biggest increase in fuel economy after installing the grounding kit; it went up by 1mpg. Note: I live in the suburbs so most of my "city" driving is in the 50-80 km/h range and I try to use cruise control as often as I can.

I use Sunoco 89 fuel
i noticed that its alot better than Shell 91 V power. (seriously!!) i fill up less. get more km's and the throttle response is the exact same.. and not to mention the money i f*king save! grounding kit.. does it matter what brand i get? or can i just get those ebay ones >.< ?

I made my own, cost me $30 and is much better quality than what is available online or on eBay.

What it basically comes down to, on G2 Legends where Premium Fuel is what is required (Premium Fuel Only). No you won't damage the car by running lower octane. The dual konck sensors will compensate and retard the timing to prevent harm to the engine. The result however will be less power... The computer is designed to accept lower octane fuel in case you need to run it...but it wont run to its' full potential.

Crowling, you seem to know a lot about fuel. What do you know about fuel catalysts such as fitch.

Hmm, I'm not sure on that one. My immediate instinct is another monkey pee product, but again, I really dont know.
As I see it, if you take care of your engine, give it a Seafoam and maybe off-car fuel system clean every now and then, then you don't need anything in a bottle. Another point, if you buy these products for oh, $20 a bottle, and squeeze up your MPG from 22 to 24, on an 18 gallon tank, thats 36 extra miles, or about 1.3 extra gallons. Lasts for what? 5 tanks? 6.5 gallons = $24. This is, of course, assuming it actually works. Consider also, the time and/or labor charge all these methods may take. Me? I take care of my car, change oil every 2,000 miles (I work at a dealership, so I get them whenever I want) I regularily check all fluids and components of the engine, and occasionally use Seafoam. My beast of a 1990 G1 Sedan with two seeping headgaskets and half a Napa store in the back seats and trunk gets 20 mpg and I beat the piss out of it. Take it as you will. ![]()

Heh, sorry to come off as a dick. I just wanted to see what you'd say. Sorry man.
Anyway, instead of seafoam, I'd say put transmission fluid in your crankcase, about a pop-bottle full, 500 miles before you do your oil change. That will work much better.
