Supposed to light up? Please help

Not sure if that's what you call them, but I was driving last night and realized that the gear shift indicators on the center console do not light up. Are they supposed to?

Just for clarification, I am not talking about the the green and red indicators in the dash. I am speaking of the actual shifter the P R D.....on the left of it. Is it supposed to light up when you have your lights on?

Thanks in advance!

Yep. There's a light bulb in there. Do a search, and you'll find a tutorial (somewhere) on how to change the bulb, and the bulb part number.

Here a pic where you can see how to remove this bulp. Itīs a 12V 2W bulb and very easy to remove it. To do is as follows...

Itīs very very simple! If you have an ATM (Automatic Transmission), you must take a flat screw driver to pull out the small black cover, then remove the 2 screws under the ash tray and finally pull gently the whole wood panel. Be careful when you remove the trim, it is somewhat fragile and cracks fairly easy. This panel contains 6 clip holder (2x upper, 2x in the center and 2x lower) Now you can see the black bulb holder on the left front side. Unscrew it by turning to left. Thatīs all. You see, no prob. -Mike

BTW: Greetings and welcome aboard !!!
