Suspension Rebuild

When I install my KONI/Eibach setup, what else should I replace while I've got everything taken apart? I want to make sure that I won't have to do anything else with the suspension for a loooong time and don't want to worry about any little things that will need replacing.

Thanks for all of your help.

Gil.

Are the bushings car specific? How much do they cost and do you think that this would give added performance? What exactly do they do?

You should replace all of the rubber parts, esp the upper mount.

I am interested in this too. I don't think bushing sets are offered for our cars, you know, like the sets from suspension techniques and what not.

People, if you are going to attempt any DIY repairs you MUST BUY A HELM. Gone are the days of intuitive auto repair. That now off my chest..

In rebuilding the damper (strut) you should replace the following parts:

Self-locking nut
Damper Mounting Washer
Damper Mount Seal
Damper Mounting Base Assy (very important)
Spring Mounting Rubber
Bump Stop
Dust Cover
Dust Cover Upper Mount
Dust Cover Lower Mount

Some of the above parts might be included with the Koni's.

I grant you that the parts are not inexpensive, but as you will have the damper disassembled for the Koni and Eibach now is the time to refurbish the assy.
