sylvania silverstar bulbs, too high of a wattage for our g2 coupes?
are the sylvania silverstar bulbs (70 watt) too high of a wattage for our g2 coupes?
is it a good idea to stay within the oem 55 watt zone? would 60 or 65 watt be ok? I just want brighter/clearer/whiter headlights. I'm not planning on real HID conversion. thanks |

anyhow, back to my original question.
are the sylvania silverstar's with 70 watts too high for our legends. I read up on the archives and someone was saying that it melted the housing. I think I'm gonna be goin with the sylvania xtra-brite with the 9005 conversion. I have no use the that "light blue" look. |

I also read in the archives that the sylvania cool blue and the sylvania silverstar's were burning out in less than 6 months. In some cases, 2 months.
I was thinking maybe it has to do with the higher wattage difference from the oem. The sylvania cool blue's are a 60 watt bulb and the silverstar's are a 70 bulb. can this be the case? |

I bought the Sylvania SilverStar this Spring and so far having no problems, I bought the 9006 and the 9005 and the wires and all seem to still be in good condition. If you wanted just a cleaner color, more towards white then these are the best in my mind. If any of you have any problems with them let me know. Thanks

70W is not too high (believe stock harness wattage = 80W)
Im currently running Nokya Arctic Whites in both high & low 100W, very bright, slight bluish tinge.... not ricey IMHO, 25 bucks for a pair U would need to change the wiring harness tho (got mine done for 35 bucks) & the 9006 Nokya bulbs lasted a year before I gave them away for HIDs. They were still working.... But Im back with the Nokyas & love em
