Exclamation Tech Info....

Are the 2nd gen legends compatible with the J series engines/trans? (J series are 97-99 CL, 98-02 accords, 00-03 CL, MDX, oddysey, etc...)

Do you guys happen to know what chasis the 1st and 2nd gen legends are based on?

Does anyone know of any manual trannies fro sale from a legend or where to look?

Who are the tech guros on this board?

They are not compatible with any J-Series Motors.
They do not share chasis, if I remember correctly they are unique chasis.
Check ebay for trannies, there are 5 speed and 6 speeds.

The closest motor design to ours (C-block) is the Acura NSX motor C32B, which will not fit. There are two C32A 2nd gen Legend motors... TypeI (200HP) and TypeII (230HP). There are 2 1st gen Legend Motors C25A (151HP) and C27A (161HP)

There is one turbo Gen1 Motor (EDM & JDM) engine code: C20A (2.0L) near 190HP V6.

C series and J series engines are very different. Legend G2s are C32 blocks. J series are transverse engine applications.

1st and 2nd Gen Legend chassis are very different designs. G1 is transverse engine, G2 Longitudinal. The first gen 3.2 Tl, from about 96 to 99, i think, is the same block as the G2 Legend.

Manual trans for a G1 or G2? Wrecking yards, E-bay might be good starting points.

For Tech gurus, there are lots of talented guys on this forum. MikeD, in Germany, Mike Diaz, Big Dad, and many more. Apologies to all the knowledgeable guys I didn't mention, it is impossible to remember all the names.

The chassis codes are:
KA3 - 1st Gen coupe
KA4 - 1st Gen sedan
KA7 - 2nd Gen sedan
KA8 - 2nd Gen coupe

for the 5/6 spd, id say check some parts sites like car-part.com, ebay, or maybe some of the for sale sections here...www.legend.org forums might have some stuff for sale, i think its still kinda active over there.

and as for tech gurus, yea theres MikeD, Mike Diaz, Big Dad, Bang&Olufsen DK, RangerJoe, tnelson, stevieray, LegendGS...and alot more, sorry to those i forgot to put in also lol

and you can check the Newbie FAQ i made (link in sig), it might answer some other questions you might have

Main difference is that a J block is a 60 degree motor, whereas the legend is a 90 degree C block. The j block of the cl is shared with the accord, the C series is Legend(and RL) and NSX.

I have heard that the newest RL will be a J series.
Daddymac got the chassis codes correct
also with c blocks are the newer RL(still legends in Japan)
Which is KA9
and the 05 is KB1

Thank you very much for the info. It seems like we have been misinformed over at a-cl.com and v6p.net I've read countless threads of "someone" that has tried it but no real evidence as to who did it and what had occured. Again thank you for your time and disregard the other 2 threads posted in a different section. I guess it's back to the CL-S 6speed.
