tilt/telescoping steering wheel help needed
My tilt/telescoping on my 94 L sedan doesn't work anymore. After years of resetting the fuse and/or pulling the battery cable off, the steering wheeling is permanently locked in the up position.
Actually it is okay because it is close to where I set it anyway. However, awhile back, I had a acura trained mechanic look it over, and he said the control unit is bad and needs replaced. He says it would be 6-8 hundred for him to do it with new parts. I would like to take a run at this myself. Supposedly this unit, Steering Column Control Unit (SCCU), is under the dash to the right of the steering column. I exposed the steering column and under dash on the driver's side. I can't locate this unit. Anyone ever worked with this. Also I looked at the online service manual and can't seem to find this there. Anybody got any insight on this? |
