to tint or not to tint
i'm planning on tinting my car tomorrow...planning on going with Solarguard HP quantum tint 28%...its suppose to be the generic stuff compared to the llumar quantum tint. Llumar is too expensive and i don't want to fork out the cash for it.
I'm getting it done at a reputable shop, as i had 2 of my previous cars tinted there, my sister's legend, my bro's tl, my other bro's f150 and his fiance's crv...and many more. Well i'm getting it done for 140. Which i think is about right for the legend. The thing is..i want to tint it bronze but i think if i go bronze i will hate the tint later on down the road...so im going with the quantum 28%, its suppose to be really reflective in the sun. I don't want dark tint cuz its hard driving at night..and i dont really like the look of dark tint..i think light tint looks classier. Any other recommendations on types of tint? |

Since you're in California, I believe the legal limit is 50% all around (I'm not positive though, it's just what I've read on some forums). I'd personally go for a black tint, as it looks the classiest. But that's personal opinion. I'd probably do 35% all around.

I think as long as you have lifetime tint, you don't have to worry about anything...
My brother-in-law does my tint on both my cars for only 30 bucks. He only charges for tint. On my Prelude he used Madico tint. On my Legend, he used another brand, but it was also lifetime tint. He also charged $30. Tint places actually overprice when you choose the more popular brand name. Because when he buys tint rolls, it doesn't cost him much at all! I think each roll costs him 200 bucks. |

I had mine installed by Pro-Tint in Temple City. 22% Bronze, I think it was $200. So far it's been about 2 years I think, not too sure...but no flaws in it, I use the defroster and everything. I thought 22% would be too dark but as bronze it doesn't look that dark (tan interior helps). I've never been pulled over for it.
Just make sure you have it done at a good shop |

Damn $300 range? What does it do? I go my 1G tinted for $125 with 5% in the back 3 and 15% in the fronts. Theyve estimated the same price for my recent car and I find that a good deal. Since its gonna get repainted grey, Im getting that dark grey 5% in the rear and maybe 50% in he fronts. I got pulled over twice with my first coupe so Ill go lighter this time.
