Question tools i need for a half axle job?? really pissed!!!

has anyone of you guys replaced a half axle before? what kind of tools do u need to get it done. do u have to take the spindle nut off too?? how about the front lower ball joint? it would help me out alot thanks. by the way i need to get the passenger side done. to start with i replaced the boots at a shop once before which is called the stratham under car in new hampshire. i was pretty pissed at what they did. i brought in the boots which cost like $30 and labor was like over $90 , total of like $120 a week or so after the shaft broke, left me stranded in a supermarket parking lot. so i got the car back to them and had them put in a new one, i guess its a remanufactured axle and total cost was about $230. its kinda ironic i started out wanting to save some $$$$$ and end up paying a lot more($350). and whenever i make a slow right turn which is like idle speed, theres like a clunking noise, ok i can live with that i guess, i had too after what i had spent and now there is this ticking noise. the noise is there if i just let off the accelerator or brake at low speeds. talk about piss off. its a must fix now. sorry for the long post i just wanted to let it out. find a reputable shop to get your parts install or you will just end up regretting it like i do now.

I'll say it befor you get ripped, use the search icon before asking anything. I learned the hard way. Anyway, it's better if you change the entire shaft yourself. It's alot cheaper and if your a DYI guy it won't take that much time. About 2-4 hours depending. The only special tool you will need is a pitch fork looking tool without the middle fork. It's shaped like a U and it fits between the lower ball joint and the bushing. The other place you will use it is for the tire rod end. Everything else is a cotter pin and a bolt and yes you will remove the hub nut. Afterwards you will need a wheel alignment. If you get stuck hit me back. Holla

NO NO NO don't use a pickle fork (that's what they're called) all it will do is bust the ball joint boot. You need a 17mm socket, a 36 mm socket, something to turn them with, a large pry bar and a bmfh.
