As of recently my 93 Ls Sedan has been giving me problems starting up. I insert the key, turn the ignition and all i get is a click. However some times after I hear that first initial click, I hear a serious of light clicks coming from somewhere near the left side next to steering wheel. It isnt the serious of clicks you hear when the car battery is dead and the car is trying to turn over, I know what that sounds like. Any ideas what it might be? It isnt the battery because the radio and lights go on fine. After several attempts of turning the key in the ignition, usually three or four times, the car turns on. |

Mike, I called an Acura Dealership in Scarsdale NY as well as Autozone and they both informed me that they did not have anything in their system for a "Starter Relay" for a 93 Acura legeng only a Main Relay.
Is this the same thing? cuz you mentioned starter relay before? Acura Dealer has the main relay at $73.22 Autozone has the main relay at $32.99 |

Thanks for the feedback guys. Listen to this and tell me if this can be a possibility. Sunday morning I go start my car, I insert the key in the ignition, the car cranks and turns on fine but once I let go of the key the car shuts off. I tried it repeatedly and get the same result every time. I havent been able to turn it on since then. I called my mechanic who told me its the "ignition switch". I asked him could this also be the cause of my car having problems starting which i mentioned originally on this post and he tells me yea.
Now my question to my fellow Legend owners is this, based on the symptoms I gave you initially when I first posted this inquiry could a bad ignition switch have also been the culprit of my starting problems? any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks btw, i had previously switched the starter relay with my bro in law's legend to check if that might have been the problem but i still had the starting problem. so it wasnt the starter relay. |
