Trunk leaks during heavy rains

Hey Guys -

Each time we get heavy rain my trunk leaks which totally wets my trunk carpet and stink it up. What do you believe is causing this ?

Thanks

Mark

Possibly rust in the rear window mounting channel. Possibly rust in trunk drain channel (around the trunk lid, part of the body). Hopefully it's a bad gasket or misaligned gasket.

Cool

Unless the trunk lid gasket is shot, the other source is the rear window trim. The attachment point slots open up into the C pillar and the trim clips are supposed to seal those slots. If you have had the trim removed or it had gotten damaged, you'll have to replace the trim as Acura doesn't sell the clips separately. I know this from experience. Good luck---
