Vacuum Leak

engine's been running rough at idle in N and a little rougher in D (while at a stop). I thought it might be motor/tranny mounts because it smooths out on acceleration. then I thought it might be vacuum leak. so I checked around by putting a tube to my ear (like a stethascope). I found hiss coming from the gasket where the brake fluid reservoir sleeve meets the firewall. in fact, when I shut the engine, I can hear residual vacuum leaking from there for about 10-12 seconds.
what is wierd is that if there was a leak from that gasket point then I would be losing brake fluid, right?
can someone check their car, mine is a 93 legend L and tell me if they hear vacuum hiss coming from the firewall by the brake fluid reservoir. especially noticeable immediately after shutting the engine.

My car just started this problem about a week. When I turn the igntion to the 2 slot I hear some air coming from the right side of the engine sounds like under the coil packs for about 4 seconds. It's messing with my idle as well. I get a hiss when I start the car when it revs up. I'm thinking vacuum leak.

Tanner that is more than likely the vacuum accumulator in your brake booster. It is basically the system that assists you during braking. You would hear it hiss for a while after shutting off the car because it is supposed to retain enough vacuum to keep you safe if the car shuts off and loses vacuum so you can get off of the road safely. I do not know much about the Legends brake systems since I haven't serviced any of them yet, but that is how many brake systems work.

Just replace the part.
