Valve Cover Gaskets ?

Had the valve cover gaskets replaced about 3 months ago no leaks, now I see smoke from the passenger side on the manifold exhaust. Do I need to treek down on the bolts more or am I missing something ? Need your help on this!. There seems to be be more smoke from the rear of the cover.

Thinkin it's the cam seals on the rear of the valve cover. I know mine leaked like a bitch. Ended up using RTV silicone to seal it up good! The big black circle in the center......

Chances are that when they were replaced oem parts were not used, and it possibly could be that they were not torqued down tight enough, or too tight. I am not sure, but I also thought there was a tightening sequence too. Just my personal opinion

Send a message via AIM to 89aCuRa
in the Acura shop manual it says to apply sealant on the the valve cover gasket where the cover makes the half circle shape. not doing this could spark a leak in that area, if not leaking here its def the rear cam seal.

Wink A little extra torque works

Roderick, I think you have the right answer. I had the same issue 3 weeks ago. My Legend went in for paint for 4 weeks, and after it left the paint shop the passenger side kept smoking, and had visible "weeping" of oil from the seal. I replaced the valve cover gasket (with OEM parts) and torqued it down to 9 ft-lbs (or whatever the Svc Man mandated) and added Honda bond to the areas directed. Still it weeped and smoked. After re-torquing it to 11 ft- lbs (and a few heat-cycles later), the smoking and weeping stopped. Oh yeah, (disclaimer) overtorque at YOUR OWN risk.
