Unhappy Very dark exaust?

History: 94 Legend L, 108k miles on it now, 90k maintenance done at 99K. Car started shaking as if it wanted to stall last Thursday and I was not able to accelerate as normal. I let the car sit in the garage for a few days and started it every other day. On day 4 I noticed very dark exaust when I started it up. Is it possible that these problems are due to the distributor cap?

I am not getting a check engine light. As far as the throttle body position sensor goes, is that something I can fix or do I need to take it in to a mechanic?

Not trying to be a smart ass, but it sounds like your engine knowledge is not up to this task. Take it back to the persons who did the last maintenance, tensioners have been known to come loose, fail or not properly tensioned on the cam belt which could allow skipped timing.....at least let them look at it and tap the computer.

Dark exaust is a sign of a fuel mixture that is too rich(too much fuel not enough air).
