Forget anyone who will diss your car to your face...no matter what you drive...that is just plain rude.
Now, the fact that you drive what is, in my oppinion, one of the best import cars ever produced, should make her just strip down nekkid and hop in the back seat. That might help her "cool off."
My girlfriend didnt respect my Legend sedan at 1st because she thought it looked like an "old man's" car in its stock form. I soon put her in her place by beating every single one of her friends little "fast civics" and the other "cool" cars. Then proceeded to mod it out. This might be because she is 17, and less mature than I am...
Plus, try getting your freak on in the back seat of a civic....forget that...I prefer the spacious, luxurious backseat of my Legend thank you!
