wider tire width on GS rims?

I've seen GS rims with seemingly wider tires vs. the OEM Michelins and thought they looked very nice. However, I did not catch the size. Anyone know what size I can get away with on a 95 coupe?

I believe MANY forum members have been running 225/50/16 on their LS wheels.
