Well our legends been through hell and back, and with my wind shield it looks as if i driven through a sand blaster at times. Night time driving for me is always blurry, glare from oncoming lights, just horrible after all these years of driving.
ive tried searching Home depot for any glass polisher, Napa, Autozone, pepboys, even yahoo searched didnt come up with anything. Then finally checked Autobarn and they have this product and was wondering have anyone tried it? If not ill def. be the guinea pig and give it a go. just wanted a heads to see if anyone had any pros and cons to this product?
There's been a few threads about finding a good polish, and it seems like there never really was a good polish found for this, so I'm glad you posted that.
Go ahead and try it, $18.25 total, not too bad. Probably trying it in an area you don't look through very often is a good idea. I am like you though, I have a worn windshield, the PO did a lot of highway driving.
Post up your results on this thread if you try it, I may try it someday.
Hadn't thought about it, but my 2c is I know in aviation they polish windows and windshields for commercial aircraft so there has to be a product available through an aviation source/outlet. Might want to check/search for something at a local small airport (FBO-fixed base operations) or the like on the internet. Happy hunting...

it appears most aviation glass repair is for acrylic type windshields, those found on small aircraft and not commercial jetliners; but keep searching using the keywords "aircraft window polishing" ...

update:
Ordered product from Autobarn. They say I can pick the item up tomorrow at their store and well see how that goes from there. Ill be sure to take some before and after photos of the restoration of my rock chipped windshield.
that seems more of a glass cleaner.. like invisibleglass etc, the problem i have with my vehicle is the original glass from 94 till now, it has very fine rock chips all over like i said above, looks like its been through a sandblaster...
You may use the following but you'll still need a buffing wheel so perhaps the kit is better. Besides the ferrous oxide in the rouge probably doesn't cut as well as cerium powder, it was designed for softer fine metals. Glass is harder.
Glass Scratch Remover Paste recipe: 2 tablespoons glycerin (buy at drugstore), 2 tablespoons jeweler's rouge, and 2 tablespoons water. Make paste, dab on clean cloth and rub scratched areas. If deep scratch, repeat as necessary.
Jeweler's Rouge is red, thus the name rouge. White and green are too coarse.
So I finally got the product early today... weather was beautiful and couldnt wait till tomorrow so I got it from Autozone for 11.99 same price + 8.25 tax comes with 6 buffing disc and a attachment disc for any household drill. I only used 2 of the 6, 1 for each 1/2 of my windshield...
My windshiled is not severely scratched/chipped but noticeable when the sun or any light is shining at the window... i tried to get a photo of it but all it did was just glare... so i only took pics between and after pics of the windshield.. these pics were taken with a 4 megapixel camera so blah pics are nasty.
this was after buffing both sides. I spent a good 10 min on each half of the windshield, you can see the dry chemical residue...
rinse stage to get off the residue...
Finished! theres still some spots I missed that i would like to redo but it started to drizzle and that will have to wait till tomorrow...
but like i said, its perfect for light marks or just small chips... anything deeper you might need to use all 6 pads maybe more, or just get a high speed buffer instead of a regular 18v hand drill. Ill try to get some more shots from inside looking out at daytime towards the sun and some pictures at night driving towards some oncoming headlights to see if it still glares as bad.
i would only recommend it if you have light marks... anything deeper that your fingernail can feel i would not suggest you use this and go for a professional job or a more commercial product.
