ouch, that is probably the harshest comment in this thread. A 1st gen CL? I don't think they look quite as bad as Acura's ugliest car ever.

I think the RL is very unique, just because it doesn't have an outstanding appearance doesn't mean it's not unique.

Yes, I know the M45 was the filler between the G and Q which is why they brought it over for 2003, I believe. After the M got redesigned and Infiniti decided to stop Q45 production, the new M became the flagship.

Even if a new Q is in the works, it's still not on the lot or in production. Until then, the M is the "defacto flagship" as B+O and myself have already stated.

That and advertising, like it was said in other threads. I don't even remember the last time I saw an RL commercial, and I've never seen a billboard or magazine ad.

that's going to change in the future with Acura getting their own design studio in Torrence and not having to share with Honda anymore lol.

as many have said styling is part of it, no v8 (like the LS430 or Q45) is also a factor. Living in Los Angeles I have noticed another reason over the last several years, that is I see more affluent asians driving german cars. I must admit if I could afford to I might drive a german car to.

again, why does it need a V8? your not even comparing cars that are in the same class

I'm sorry I thought it was in the V8 luxury class price range. As a comparison Mercedes sells the E class with a 6 or and 8, guess which one sells way more units? Mbz also used to offer 6 or 8 cylinder S class cars and the 6 sold so badly Im pretty sure its been dropped years ago.

not in the LS430/7/S-class price range. The 8...

Hit the brakes bro...

The 6 cylinder E class outsells the 8 cylinder by a 4 to one spread. That is, 80% of Eclasses are 6 cylinder. Again, What are you talking about? Acura and Honda do their homework.

The S class is not even close to being around the RL's range. Have you even looked at SClass prices?!?!

A bottom rung No-Options S550 is $90,000. Start adding things to make it more than an expensive E-Class and the price shoots north of $105,000 easily.

That's more than twice the price of the RL....again, how is the RL supposed to fit in that class??? You've confused me now...

Just listen to what hnic is sayin.

to be honest...the new RL is more of a mixture of sport and luxury...I would rather see the 03-04 RL (my fave gen) with a nice v6 or option for a v8 in it...acura needs to give more options then they do...the 05 rl is the first awd car ac made (i think)...benz been had one..audi been had one....bmw also...its like they moving slower then the competitors...sure the price range of the new rl's are 40k and some bmw's or benz or audis are like 50k+...but you know when you spend that 45-50k your getting a hell lot more then the rl..and true..out of all those cars the RL MIGHT be the most reliable..but when your buying a car for status value..all that sh*t flys out the window..If you can afford a 60k car..You can afford to fix it..and it better have a great warranty too...my .02

PS. Love ^ avatar...lmao!!!!

Once again this conversation comes full circle.

99% don't realize that Honda is not going to engage in a piss contest with other auto manufacturers.

Honda/Acura is a VALUE brand..."I want to give my customers the most car for 50k or 40k or 30k or 20k." 50k gets you a loaded RL...50k doesn't get you in a MB or BMW and gets you a naked GS but barely.

Most of you are screamin V8 RWD 400+hp!!!!!!1111oneone!11

If that's what you want then my advice is that you bought or are looking at buying the wrong car.

I feel what your saying..And its the truth..I would just like to see more options atleast....I love acuras...and they are very reliable/dependable cars.... but the styling and features are very limeted to certain extent...

Took some quick pics of an 3.5RL sitting on 20's near my work. They look alright unless he lowered it a bit.
