5 point seat belts... Question...

Does anyone purchased aftermarket seat belts? i purchased 2 used sets on ebay but i don't have experience with this seat belts, i just got them in the mail and the first thing i notice that the pull down strap on one of them was ripped from the buckle then i checked the rest of them and they look to me that they are coming apart but the rest of the straps the big straps are fine my question is , is this supost to be like this "come Off" from the buckle or this is a no good seat belts, this is a pic for showing what i am talking about.

You could put a new one if you know how to stitch. And since you said you bought it used, that would happen buying it like that. Like I said, if you know or know someone that can stitch, you can place a new strap puller.

Hmm, weird. But like I said, you can put a new one on. It's just to make the belt tighter when you pull it.

That is not an ESSENTIAL component of the harnesses. The question is, why are they worn when these are sold as new? Check the rest of the harness and see if it's worn. I'd get a refund and get some real sparco/corbeau/schroth/takata/thompson harnesses.

I checked the rest it seems to me they are ok, and right now i am in the proccess of returning them and searching for better belts than this...

Ya, thats a good idea. Who knows how old that belt is anyways. People put anything they want ebay. Its really hard to tell if it is new or old. GL finding a new one.

I really recommend some Sparco belts.. I'd also suggest Takata as I found those comfortable too but they are really overpriced.

I think Sparco belts are a good choice.

If you go with sparco, get a cam lock one.. I loved mine. Buy off ebay, they are real affordable!

That's just the strap to make it easier to release the tension. Sucks that it came off - if you're returning, the Sparco is a good one, also the Pyrotect version you can get from SoloRacer.com - Schroth Harness Belts, Corbeau Seats, G Force Helmets, Bell Helmets, Autocross Magnets, and other Autocross Products is a 5 point for a little cheaper than the Sparco 4 point listed above. Both cam lock. I have a set of the Pyrotect's but haven't installed them yet...

Lol, I guess he didn't want it back. Oh well, as long as you get your money back.

In the interest of time and because I'm sure you have a lot more useful things to do on the car with your time that's a good call. Just for future reference though that is . Seller misrepresented the condition of the goods, and you as a buyer are never liable for listing fees on a returned product. But as you said, for now this is the quickest way to resolve the issue. What belts did you decide to go with?
