I am interested in the full set and trunk mats. On the other thread, I was really not impressed with the way the Oak matched Marks interior, however the photos make the parchment *look* like a pretty good match to my type-f interior. If anyone who has ordered the parchment could post pics with the mats in the car it would be helpful.

PM sent. DaveCFPrez was planning to do a template too. As long as we do one template to met all the needs - rather than keep tinkering with everyone's idea of how they like theirs, we would be more than happy to redo our older template. HTH. |

sweeeeeeeeeet L3GDKANG !! I think we should just use your template !!
I'll still bring home some paper and cut out my measurement just because, but I think yours will work out very well. Thanks for tracing around your mat !! |

** PLEASE NOTE **
I do NOT work in the auto industry !! LOL I had some left over carpet with foam backing from 12+ years ago when I used to show my mini truck at ISCA shows, so I hacked off a piece and with a yard stick, box cutter, sharpie markers and some scissors attempted to cut out a JDM style rear 1 piece mat just to see how my measurements would fit. This first pic. is the end result, as its getting late and 4am comes early !! ![]() This is the extra from my measurements compared to the OEM back mat. ![]() This will be the most tricky part -- the HUMP, and trying to get the mat to lay flat. ![]() This is what the passenger's side looks like all tucked into the corners. ![]() This is what the mat looks like (passenger's side) when tucked down onto the carpet. As you can see the centerline of the center console and the centerline of the mat are wayyyyyy off. ![]() I'm sure that with L3GDKANG's template and Hrant's expertise we should be able to get this whipped in no time. *I* was just impatient and wanted to see how my measurements came out. I'll more than likely fiddle around with the area that goes over the hump behind the center console as you can see by the pictures I didn't even cut that part out like my pattern is drawn. |

Catching up on the posts ........
Dave, great job at trying to make a template. A few observations. Hinow's template seems to be slightly different but that doesn't matter as long as we are tracing what works. 1) Your template leaves little margin on the sides for the rail when compared to the black (not sure if the black is OEM), and "appears" to go deeper under the seat than the pictures or the drawn template. Perhaps its an illusion. I strongly suggest that you try to back the seat all the way back and see if any of the seat components or the motor will interfere with floor mat. Our mats are thicker (denser) and have a longer pile than most so this can be an issue. 2) My guess is that Carlsson's deep cuts around the hump is to help the back of the seat clear the mat when pushed all the way back on the rails. Also, by narrowing the lay down's width over the hump it probably helps it to bend and rest flat. Between your effort and that of Hinow we should be able to finalize this. |
