Selling an 88 Legend Service Manual. Twenty beans and shipping will take it.
The book is in good condition, no tears, no pages missing or falling out. Normal wear. I bought this on ebay and paid $21, then I bought another along with the electrical system manual, so I'm just releasing one of the service manuals back into the wild. |

I'm new to Acuras and I recently picked up an 89 Legend w/68,000 that needs some thangs (brakes, motor mounts, maybe shocks). Is there a big difference between the two years? And is it a little more detailed than the Haynes manuals? If so then I'm interested. Let me know, thanks.

Congrats on your new car! I'm psyched about mine. And you got way low miles like mine! Awesome. I look forward to seeing some pix in the forum.
Some of the differences between cars depend on Sedan v. Coupe. I have a Sedan. One of the upgrades I'm aware of is that the '89 Sedan came equipped with a double wishbone rear sports suspension that the '88 didn't have. Also, depending on whether yours is a STD (standard) L or LS trim level, there will be some differences in the audio system, airbag, heating/ac features. The book I have covers STD, L, LS. There's a thread on the forum that talks more fully about the diff between years and model levels. I don't have a Haynes, so I'm not sure how the two manuals compare, however, there is a haynes v. chilton's manual discussion somewhere on this forum that I read recently. A lot of the respondents (some of whom have ALL THREE manuals) report that they recommend the original Acura Service Manual, or that they like to have a couple of manuals on hand for comparison. The manual is well organized, it has 23 chapters and several fold-out schematics in the back. It's about 400+ pages long. |
