You can try it. I tried a few different head gasket sealers, just because I got them for free. None of them worked.

I tried the Steel Seal stuff and it just left me with a mess to clean up when I replaced the head gaskets. Car runs great now.

you can buy that stuff at Advance Auto Parts. they have it under the commercial counters in the back. We sell it to shops everyonce in a while. Here in Tennessee at the one i work at its like 56 bucks a bottle. but according to the bottle it will even seal a cracked block and warped heads! they also have A/C sealant that is like 35 bucks for a few ounces. We have been meaning to try it out, but none of us can see spending 56 bucks on a test.

Advance Auto was in my shop yesterday trying to get me to buy some. I didn't go for it though. I really don't see how this can be good for any cooling system, especially the Legend's sensitive cooling system.
It may work for other cars, but I've replaced too many Legend head gaskets to know that something like this will not work for our BHG problems.

I would like to see someone try this. I work at autozone and some of our commercial customers use this product. It's expensive, but they warranty it, and if the car still leaks you get your money back.
Someone should definitely try this to see if it work. |

1 word for these products: gimmick. It simply does not work. They're banking off the people that don't return it for the guarantee. It's a sad excuse for a band aid.

I work at a auto shop. Vehicle came in was a 95 ford tauras with a blown headgasket. The thing was misfiring and pouring white smoke out the back. Customer asked to put this stuff in his car and i had him sign waivers that we are not responsible for anything that happens and followed the bottle. Removed the thermostat and poored it in. Me and the other mechanic went to sit down and finish lunch came back about 15 mintues later. And were freaking out. The car actually stopped missfiring and when you snapped the throttle it ran smooth. It still was smoking so we let it run for about 30 minutes more. Eventually teh smoke went away. Gave the keys back to the customer the car ran like new. Eventually he came back about a week later with a coolant leak. Looks like the stuff blew out his water pump. When looking back on the directions you onlyu need to add about half a bottle depends on the engine size. I wonder if that owuld have made a difference. So changed the water pumpa nd now it runs like good again. I dont know how long it will last but i would only attempt this on a vehicle that you plan to get rid of soon or just to help you get back on the road if you are in a bind. Becuasae if you decide to fix it righ tim sure it seals up a bunch of coolant passages and you will never really be able to clean all that crap out after you change the head gasket.
