yes it does because it recirculates exhaust gas into the engine to help in the combustion process and makes it more efficient however by circulating hot gas it hurts your hp since you want the coldest possible air going into your engine.
lol if you want better fuel economy just make sure its cleaned out and not clogged like most are. if you want more power just leave it clogged or get an egr block plate haha

i learn something new about Legends everyday (tranny option)
i was only joking about a bigger EGR but ill take a look if i can find his diy
93 type 2 6 speed. Telion's been great to work with I have both the bayou and telion's chip. I felt that the Telion chip may be a bit stronger at the high end but the bayou feels like it pulls better for everyday driving. Been meaning to get back to you telion do you have sr5guy's stage 3 program? I still need to send back your ecu and my chip since it wasn't programmed for tcs.
I wish we could have that collaborative test like we had back in the old forum days. I think all our cars would be better for it. I'd be willing to throw down a little cash so we could dyno all 4 chips side by side on the same car. How much would four dyno pulls cost? If we could pool some cash together maybe we could get it done.

I just took apart 2 intake manifolds. One probably 120k miles and the other 163k miles, and the 120k mile manifold was 90% blocked, and the 163k miles manifold was 100% blocked. I was wondering why I couldn't tell the difference when I put the Dv8 block plate in.
Additionally, I had to clean out the IM, because of all the gunk that is deposited in the manifold. Totally useless.

The EGR block plate should keep the EGR pipe and the bottom of the IM clean once cleaned.
It takes a long time for that gunk to accumulate.

hmm... not to thread hijack or anything but i thought cleaning out the egr gives both better fuel economy and power (HP)?
i have had Telions chip for some months now and i think i get more power in the 3k to 5.5k area...more pull i mean does sr5guys chip pull more on the lower end or higher end, dont get me wrong i have won many "drag" races with this chip can anyone with sr5guy's chip tell me wat the feeling of his chip is?

True on your chip in comparison to a stock chip on your car, there is certaily no dispute as to the benefits of advanced timing throught the powerband with your specific mods. I actually have his chip on file. And anyone who may ask no please do not ask I will not provide an SR5guy chip out of respect and to him. I can say on the other hand where there are areas on each the 3.5 and the 3.2 where advanced timing is not the best way to go with the mods that the majority of the forum has. DV8 said it best a car specific tune on the street and a dyno is the best way to go, we are each just providing something that fills the void for those that do not have the time, money, equipment or desire to do so.

Agreed there would be much to gain from this pfovided dynos on the TI were shared and on a vehicle that was closest to the vehicle that is most commonly found for someone who sought such a mod, but I had been asking for this for months, at one point I even offered to socket and chip a car for 50.00 to have this done.
