So how about next Wed. Out at Sac raceway? You bring the Legend and I'll bring the G35-stock? I need a stock baseline before I throw on the intake manifold spacer and suspension.
I was going to go tomorrow for the season opener but, got shit to do.

I could bring the for sale Legend slicks out if your interested in buying them.

You know that track times are always done at the track with a timer, young man... this might be on the same scale as a crayola dyno graph...

Forget about the slicks man, you seriously dont need them.
A good street tire will be fine for up to around 300whp and your not even close to that. I'm not trying to be a dick or tell you what to, I'm just letting you know that they are not necessary for you to get off the line or pull good times. Especially if your going to pussy foot it off the line.

Under 300 Whp and with a heavy ass car you Really don't need them. If you do use them to their fullest potential and take off the line at 3500-4000 rpm. You could possibly break things like stock axles, or shred your final drive.

I've been racing and around drag racing for many year with cars ranging from 200 hp to 900 hp. Believe me or ask DV8, they are not imperitive for an excellent run, just air the street tires down and learn how to drag race with those untill you really need slicks.

Actually, I dont agree. My BFG drag radials or 555r didnt hold @3k launches. I wasnt going to throw more money in to some MT et streets. My slicks hold 4500rpm launches and thus launch the legend my best 1.8 60ft's. Document another Legend anywhere without slicks that can launch 1.8-1.9's. I launch N/A by the way.

Granted I have the TQ of a 3.5 and he's got a 3.2, that just means he'll be able to launch higher within his powerband. For the price he's paying, its practically a gift and further proof I know Legends in and out.

I waiting for your .02

Alright, here's your documentation. 1.7 60ft stock type 1 auto sedan with big wheels tires/rims jk.

If your hooking him up with drags for a great price, then I'd go that route also. If money aint no thang, then yup again. If paying full price, than slicks can wait till there is more power.

I know they will help, but just how much better than a nice wide sticky aired down street tire? .1 or .2 at the 60ft. Although, .1-.2 better at the 60ft is like .2-.5 at the end of the 1/4.

BTW, how are your axle's holding up after launching at 4500 with slicks?

Looks like I'll be the first to break 2.0 in the 60ft with street tires, mark my words.

Since the EMS install which allows me to run a two step, all where launched between 4k-5k. I've run around 40-50 drag track runs since the EMS. One axle tore a boot. Did I mention they were still the original axles?
I have since replaced them both because I figured at $80 each it was time to get new ones instead of replacing the boot, again.

Legend drag radial sizing is key. However, why fuss with that when an 8-8.5 wide slick will work most everytime no matter what brand. Most drag radials cost the same or more than a slick. where are you getting your pricing from? I'll be moving to a 9-10in slick next. An LSD of sorts is also a big deal when it comes to all this.
2.0 60's is kids play. I did that with my BFG's..

yea you are pretty much giving them away to me , i know what you mean about regular tires not being able to hook up, i was practicing my launches the other day with bfgs which are some pretty sticky tires with no avail. I was looking into either drag radials or slicks but the tires i currently have are so close to drag radials that i didn't want to have the same problem after spending as much money that slicks would cost, so thanks for the help dv8

As for the 0-60 times I couldn't tell you. But if you were to scale the difference from the 1/4 mile, there you have it. I couldn't break 6.0 for the life of me. 6.01 was best out of many 0-60 pulls with the ol auto type 2. This was the same car I pulled the 14.5 with man.

Found a couple on Ebay for under $200. Here's the site if your not familiar with the G.

Really their that accurate ??I was pretty interested in those until I was told they werent that accurate, but now u got me thinking again

no one really takes those things to seriously, just take your car to a track if you dont want anyone to question your times.
