Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. - IVA-W505

Has anyone seen this? I haven't been on the alpine site for a while, and then I decide to drop by tonite, and BAM! A double din gem! Man, USB for ipod (and flash drives) connection, full speed control.... No adapter boxes. Man, if I had waited another year when I got my flip out D310.

This is incredible! Reviews, anyone? Thoughts? Or yeah, for those of you who can't ever find the way to where they are going, it docks the blackbird behind the 7" screen.

My next legend gets it!

Yeah, I was gonna get this when I got my Eclipse AVN6610, but I didnt want to wait for the portable nav B200 Blackbird for it...looks like a nice 2din unit tho...

The stereo seems cool IF you buy ALL the ADD-ONS....... without the add-ons it is kinda lacking, and kinda pricey...

I would get it if I already had all those add-ons.....but since I don't......this would be one expensive stereo to buy, cuz I definitely would want HD, IPOD, GPS, SIRIUS/TRAFFIC, BACKUP CAMERA, BLUTOOTH PHONE HOOKUP,........etc etc.... cuz if i'm spending that much, I may as well go all out

I think there are some better touchscreen Double-din HU's that have at least some of these features built into it.

i was eyeing this the day the press released it. the 505 has a very nice face lift compared to the 205's.

505 and the blackbird(v2)...nice combo imo.

I checked on ebay last week, and I found a W505 for $800 + shipping. I actually picked up my IVA-D310 from ebay in the spring of '07for $850 shipped, and a pair of headrest monitors (PKG-M780) for 500 bucks plus shipping. All these were brand new out of the box, with all installation accessories.

I just did a search for the IVA-W505 on ebay, and I found one for $975 plus shipping. So, if you want one, you can save a search on you ebay account, and see what shows up every week. You would have to do a buy-it-now deal, though. So, it's not that unattainable. Cheaper than going to Best Buy or Crutchfield, abeit without the security of a warranty. But the gamble is worth it.
