Sorry to play the devil's advocate, but if you all really want to get into it...
That enclosure is nice and all, but every decent bass enclosure builder should know not to share port/vent airspace. If one sub fails for whatever reason, then it will greatly compromise the other sub's performance. Each sub should be with its own port/vent. Not to mention it is also a good idea to put triangle braces when homebuilding an enclosure. Here's a read for everyone interested: http://www.kicker.com/06/tech-suppor...ManualV2_1.pdf (Requires Adobe Reader to open) For those wanting to skim, skip right to page eleven to get to vented enclosures. For those actually wanting to pursue enclosure building, I suggest reading the whole manual, as you will learn some of the best techniques in the enclosure-building industry from this article. Even if you don't like Kicker, you should still stop and think why they are one of the top competition winners in the world, and why they would spend the time and effort to produce a technical manual for enclosures. The enclosure makes or breaks the overall result. Put a good subwoofer in a poorly made enclosure and it will sound like any other average system. Put a cheap subwoofer in a well-built, mathematically correct enclosure and it will sound like a million bucks. Put a good subwoofer in a correctly-built enclosure and, well, you get the idea. ~ Spencer

You can play devil's advocate and I respect everyone opinion even if I do disagree.
1. If one sub fails, go buy another one. Thats not very hard to do at all. 2. Braces are a good thought but to me it would have been overkill. This particularbox was for 2 12's with a max of 500 watts for both subs combined. (no need for braces at all because using 3/4in mdf for a box with 500 watts is not going to flex at all) If I'm building a box for pure spl and some heavy power will be used, then i will compensate for braces and add them to the design when necessary. 3. Car audio is about imagination and creativity. Some like the same basic ported or sealed box covered in grey carpet. Unfortunately I like to be a little different and add some simple but different twist so my boxes aren't like everyone else. In car audio, the beauty of it is that everyone has their own opinions and what best works for them. I respect all opinions even if I don't agree, but I'm always willing to listen! Thanks,
