Hooking Up 2 Amps For Each Sub

I got a question, is it possible to hook up the left sub with 1 amp, and the right sub with 1 amp? Basically the subs get their own amp. Is this possible?

i think what you're asking is can you run 2 subs off of 2 amps, with each sub having its own amp. yes, its possible. i did this back when i had 2 cheap amps. you will probably want to bridge each amp to get the sub the most power.

If you have the amps already just laying around....sure, you can do it. IMO I would suggest you just buy a bigger amp.

You will need to RCA pre-outs form the radio, or a splitter (one set for each amp) Once you have that its just a matter of power and speaker wire. Depending on wattage you'll want to run a 4guage (with its own fuse in the engine compartment) to a fused distribution block to power the amps. You can splice the remote wire to work for both amps.

If you have a 2 channel amp you can bridge it (if the amp is built to allow for bridging) as stated above for more power. If its a 4 channel you will be wasting 2 channels.

very possible..in fact its the best way to go..hopefully you have 2 mono amps of the same powe..you dont want to give them different wattage...and its not necessary to have to use 2 rca cables from the HU..if your amp is kind of a newer model..it should have in and out puts..if you do..then you can put an rca from the out to the other amp...if you have a 2 cha amp then bridge it like the others said..and if you have a 4 cha amp..then i dont recomend it....

K I found out what amp I have and here it is:
Product Information
The XM-2200GTX 2-channel amplifier puts this reliability to good use with 200 watts RMS power per channel (or 500 watts RMS bridged), plenty of power for a subwoofer or two. The variable bass boost (0-10dB at 40 Hz) kicks up the lows when it's needed, and you can switch on the variable low-pass filter to keep the low frequencies tight and crisp.

Product MPN
MPN= xm-2200gtx

Key Features
Amplifier Type= Dual Channel
Bridgable= Bridgable
RMS Power at 4 Ohms= 200 W x 2

Performance
Frequency Response= 5 Hz - 50000 Hz
THD at Rated RMS Power= 0.01 %

Crossover / Equalizer
Bass Boost= With Bass Boost
Bass Boost Frequency= 40 Hz
Low - Pass Frequency= 50 Hz - 300 Hz

Other Features
MOSFET Circuitry= Yes

Dimensions
Width= 15.75 in.
Depth= 10.88 in.
Height= 2.25 in.

I bridged this amp before and let me tell you, it shut off in about 20-30 min. cause it got hot pretty quick. So I was thinking of getting the same amp. What do you guys think? Oh, and I'm running 2 Gauge power wire and my ground is a 4 Gauge.
