New Sub Install

Here's some pics of the subs I just installed and the amp mounted behind them. I'm gonna put a 1Farad cap in next weekend. Just didn't have time this weekend.

They are 10" Lightning Audio Strike S4.10.VC2 Subwoofers in a custom fitted box for my legend. The amp is a 2000W uDimension Amp that I found in Japan.

Yeah thats 2000w RMS. And the legend doesn't handle it to well. My lights dim really bad and thats why I need a cap or a high output alternator. How much does the alternator run for?

The Subs will hold out, the have a peak of 1500W each and 800W recommended.

500WRMS reccomended... say goodbye to your subs

caps arent going to fix your problem...

and i wouldnt spend the money on a new alternator if you have those subs...

h/o alts cost from 300-up USD

i could only justify spending that much if i actually had a good sub

where have you found a high output for the Legend for 300 dollars?

I can get one at NAPA, a 140amp output, but the thing about it is....It's $1,200 USD

Also, i had to look it up...that small of an amp didn't really look like it could put out 2000W RMS....not to say one cant, i just couldn't justify it...

turns out a hunch was right.
1000W
http://www.u-dimension.com/prox_1k1d.htm

2000W

http://www.audiocar.pl/u-dimension/P.../Prox2K-1D.htm
http://www.u-dimension.com/prox_2k1d.htm

It's mu-dimension even though it says "u" dimension.

His subs should be fine at 500W RMS a piece since he's got the 1000WRMS version of the amp.

With all the great products coming out of Japan, why did you go with Lightning??? Not bashing it, but isn't Lightning "middle of the road" at best?
