OEM 6 CD Changer Problem
The Magazine wont eject and I have an E-02 error...and when i manualy eject it (via sliding a credit card under the mag) pull out the cd's then put it back in like the manual says it does nothing..when i press eject the light just stays solid for a secound then begins to blink again....also are there 2 different mounting brackets one for coupe and another for sedan because i cant see anyplace to mount it with the brackets that are on it now.
I bought it used off sombody on the boards they had a 94 coupe and i have a 93 sedan could that be the problem i also tried cleaning it with some compressed air but it didnt do anything....still jamed. there is a cd in there also but the cd in there dosnt seem to have a lable which seems to be a common problem. id really like to keep this and just fix it because its gonna cost me 16 bucks to ship it back to the guy i bought it from...so ill spend 16 bucks for nothing basicly.... any help is much appreciated, -Dave

Some of the coupes had a vertical mounting position ...usually on the left hand side of the trunk. All sedans (as far as I know) used a horizontal mounting position on the under-side of the rear package shelf (between the speakers). If you change from vertical to horizontal, you must change the damping mechanism springs on each side of the cd changer. If using in the horizonal position, move the little round spring holders to the bottom of the arc ...and if using in vertical mode, move them to the top. Move simply by pulling the little round spring holders forward and sliding them into the next groove. Have the damping set wrong could be part of your problem.

All G2 Legend CD changers mount vertically if the OEM mounting brackets are used. If you see a G2 Legend CD changer mounted under the rear deck someone did it wrong or it was a custom job. It is true, the Sedan and Coupe both have different CD changer mounting brackerts that are not interchangeagle. The shape of the rear 1/4 pannel area is a little different between the two thus the different mounting brackets.
As for the stuck magazine, try manually ejecting the magazine again. Now, press the eject button WITHOUT the magazine inserted. If you hear and see the transport moving you should be okay. If not, then try hitting the eject button again, but this time use a finger and give the rollers (You can see them on the right side as you peer into the magazine slot) a nudge at the same time. Hopefully they the mechanisn will start moving at this time. |
