Lightbulb Poor Man's JDM Navi alternative

So heres an idea..feel free to make fun of it...

JDM Navi Consoles are expensive, hard to put in and for it to look good requires a expensive headunit...so heres an idea

1- Move the Auto Climate Control lower to replace the BOSE head unit using a 1.5DIN to 2DIN mounting kit

2- Fill the gap left by removing the Auto Climate Control with a 1.5 DIN LCD NAVI unit..not the kind where the LCD screen slides out but the kind with a lets say 4-4.5" LCD screen fixed looking similar to the BMW Navi system

For example only, a system liek this

I would have to agree but size matters to me too, and would not want to go less than 7" on the display.

Ahh fuck it ...just gonna sell other toys to buy the pioneer nav/dvd and replace the Bose HU with it. Its less visible from outside anyways so hopefully no one would break in to my car ...I just wanted one so bad.

yea besides that in the long run the heat and the a/c moisture would have you replacing the screen! unless you fixed the ducts to have them relocated to the vents that you have replace!

Yeah it seemed like a good idea when I was thinking about it sitting on the can. Most of my ideas come to me while sitting on the can.
