Radio code post....

Everyone that has been to the acura dealership to get codes for there factory radio's should post there codes here w/ the radio unit number so that other acura owners won't have to go through the hassle of getting those codes. If you have the unit numbers already and know them or if you only have the code. Please post it here..... It can't be the many different numbers when all of the cass. units all just about look the same. I'm just to lazy to spend the money in gas going to the dealer!!
Don't flame on this thread just help.......

Post the year of the unit
Post the model number
Post the code

You are kidding right? Even if you are not kidding, it is a 5 digit code, so you do the math on how many combinations a 5 digit code can give you. I'm sure it is much more than the production run of all G2 Legends.

I don't know you that good. Just for the record I own a flatbed tow truck. I tow cars all day so stealing your radio would be useless plus, you should see some of the stuff I junk. I already tried this read at the top... :p

I really really doubt anyone would post their radio code on a public forum.

With that said, the code is 5 digits long and can contain numbers 1 thru 8. So the combination is 8 to the power of 5 which means there's 32768 possible combinations. I'm pretty sure there's more than 32768 Legends sold in the US. So there are quite a few duplicates.

It is impractical for anyone to input 32768 codes into their radio just to get the radio working, it's much more practical just to call your local dealer with your serial number.

But just to help you in your endevor, here's my contribution to your list:
12345

I would think there would be less then 32768 codes because I doubt there is a radio with a code of like 12345 and stuff...

Why not? I'm fairly sure that the code is computer generated and programmed at random, to the computer program code 12345 is just as valid as anything other combination.

However, specific codes such as 11111, 22222, 12345, and such may be automatically thrown out due to the fact if anybody did have a radio w/o a code that was stolen, they might be like "aww what the hell *presses 11111* and it works...

I can see how the programmers can program it so that all repeating numbers are ignore, but I don't think they would make it so it will throw out all sequential numbers. Come to think of it, the code in my old sedan was a sequential number, but not 12345 though. But since we can only speculate on how the code was programmed, no one knows exactly what codes are valid and what codes are not. Maybe someone will post here that their code is 12345 or 11111, you never know.

I'm hoping you guys know where I'm going with this. If they put a number on your radio at the factory. I'm thinking they didn't change the stickers on your radio around that much. Do they really have to have the radio number and why not just the vin #? I'm new to all of this code stuff and new to acura's so go easy with me.

people sell their radios... so it would be better to match up the radio serial number with the code number than the vin number with the code number.

I'm on the telephone right now with the dealership. I spoke to Steven at Acura service department in Laural Md. I think he is going to leave me hanging. If anyone can get the code for me I have a bunch of numbers on the flip side of the radio. I will give it a try...
Ref #: CM3919
Serial # B01013461
Number in black on the side: spo-A1

i had the same problem to , all i did called the Acura dealer up , and it took less then 5 min for them to give me the code. you shouldn't have to come down to the dealer unless the # you give them is wrong, just my thought.
EDIT: it should be free, so if they ask for a charge then i wouldn't know what to say.
