On my sedan, if you build the box to a tall wedge and have the back wall drop straight down, you'll get a wedge that is about 29"wide x18" high x 9"deep on the bottom and about 2" on the top. That'll give you about 1.1 cubic foot box good for most 10" in an sealed SQ setup. Go to the junkyard and pick up a piece of trunk carpet from a Legend that is identical to the stuff in your trunk. Cover the box in that. Remove the panel behind the seat.Mount the woofer facing the seat and right at the bottom on the sloped face. Yeah, that's right. Towards the seat. Get a small amp and mount it on the same side as the woofer. so it fits in nice.
Nobody will know you have a sub and amp in there. It also practically takes no space to boot.
Use your OEM deck , it has the same power as most HUs anyways 50 peak, 20 rms per channel. Use the aux input on the back of the OEM deck, put a portable MP3 player in the centre console, connect via a cable thru the console and that is stealth my friend. Nobody knows.

Great ideas here, just don't forget that you'll have to splice in to the rear speakers to pull the signal from the stock system in order to put it in to the amplifier. If your amp only has RCA inputs, that's easy enough too, just buy a line-output converter and convert the speaker-level to RCA-level inputs (less than $20) and that'll do it.

I did a stealth install like this on a 2001 Lexus IS300 and it worked perfectly

i have a full system. I have a clarion 2004 745mp deack with 2 amps. The 800 watt amp (2 ch) is running the sub and the 500 (4 ch) is running the four speakers inside the car. The only reason i want a stealth or stock looking box is because i am not a big fan of the high end trunk set ups.

Send a message via AIM to Johnny Hunng
Build a false wall then (Facia)...Will shorten ur trunk space by about 1/3 (if you've installed everything up against rear seat) but it'll be stealthy.
