Wireing Radar Detector

Hey guys, can you help me out with this. I have a Cobra radar detector and I want to "tap" into my cig lighter fuse. There is a red wire and a white one. How would I do this with my '90 sedan?

I did the same thing. But you can just go to the parts store and get an "add a fuse" It makes adding accessories really easy and gives them thier own fuse. -Tim

Sorry for my vague description.... What you want is an "Add a fuse" It plugs into a fuse on your fuse block and adds a whole new circuit. (2 fuese, one for the circuit that was there, and one for your new accessory.) So just plug it into the radio, or something that only works with the key on, and you are good to go. Then you just fish the wires to your radar detector, and find a ground. Is this a little better? Let me know, Tim

I was wondering the same thing...so you find a fuse that is an equivalent to those household plugs that makes one plug become two? I am understanding this?

Like this?
Monster Fuse
