i think its the second ..
american cars cannot hold their value. people here are sellin 2006 Ford Explorers for around that price . 11k around.. its NUTS.. especially with the soaring gas prices.. what do you mean it drove a little rough though? like tranny/engine wise? or just the ride in general

That aint nuthin! I had a guy wanting to trade a Dodge V6 truck, 2006 model. We could only allow $9,500 for trade value because that's all they are bringing at auction! I felt bad for the guy, cuz he still owes, like, TWICE that. Blame the gas prices, I guess. OH, AND SUB-PRIME LENDING.
As for the Chevy, I don't see anything wrong with that, as long as that's what you need. Everyone and their mother/brother/cousin is getting rid of their trucks and SUV's right now, and getting into economy cars. The market is FLOODED with all these big gas guzzlers, and so they are going cheap. If it's what you need, then get it. I don't think it's gonna get much cheaper.

Carfax reports are nice to have, but Carffax doesn't find everything. I've seen a lot of cars that were very obviously smashed, but had a clean Carfax.
And I wouldn't think a 2006 model vehicle with 22k miles should drive even a little rough. Is it just the tires are noisy, or does the thing drive like a log wagon? Ask them if you can have a reputable shop or dealer service department look at it. Say you want a second opinion, just to see what they say.

Hell, if it still has a good manu's warranty then go for it. Just make sure to get it checked out before it expires. Consider getting an extended warranty, because GM doesn't exactly have a great automatic transmission design.
