I'm thinking... Big Bear<= just my pick
...lots of twisties and panoramic views above 7000+ feet; how about early to mid December before winter arrives.Any other suggestions; like Frazier Park or Mt. Baldy perhaps... lets hear it! Heck, if you guys like we can go to Mammoth heheh...

I was thinking a little closer hahaha Big Bear gets icy in mid December, doesn't it?
A little more reachable/accessible: Palomar-to-Julian. Good eats and 5500ft isn't too bad..?

i would go up to crestline almost every weekend a few years back, no problems with cops.
and last year, i was up around that time, some snow, but mostly fake snow. i hit a spot of black ice coming up the back way, that was fun in mom's new truck (no legend at the time) |

I know you guys are feeling out possible spots, but let me know as you hone in on a specific loaction and date-I'll see where I'm at as far as making it. Interesting concepts folks are throwing out thus far.....but if y'all are talking snowish areas in December, I'll wait for the inevitable pics, LOL!

For some of us that attended '07 NALM in Las Vegas last May... we've experienced driving through these adverse weather condition, the drive to Mt. Charleston ski resort turn for the worst and it started snowing @6K foot level.
Heres my proof of that memorable moment... Snow started coming down hard @6500 foot level... ![]() Side by side with Fred (FF Drifter)... ![]() Few of us who survived... ![]()

why not a PCH cruise and meet.. maybe malibu or ventura area?
so cal is awesome because of our lack of a harsh winter.. we should take full advantage of the fact that we don't have to deal with winter like our forum buddies to the north. |

Hmmm PCH is a good Idea!
Like we could all meet up in Calabassas or Agoura, cruise the 101, then take one of the canyon roads (Lost Hills, Mullholland, Kanan, or something like that) and then end up on PCH where we could chill and get some seaside photos.... |

Lost Hills; where that at Gabe, I've heard of it before... every time I visit family in North Hollywood/Panorama City, my nephews talk about it, lots of twisties?
Ventura or even Santa Barbara is a good place for a meet... any local(s)?

<~~~ Local right here
We've got quite a few options as far as meet spots... Lost Hills road is a windy road from the 101 (between Calabasas and Agoura) to the PCH...well actually it goes to Las Virgines EDIT: Ok so heres the map...the "A" is Lost Hills which does lead to Las Virgines and then Malibu Cyn However, depending on how twisty you guys want to get, in the middle you can see Kanan/Kanan Dune Rd which is awesome as well (maybe even more so than Lost Hills). And finally we have all out crazy on the far left which is Muhollond Hwy which connects with the 23 (Decker Canyon) in Westlake.... Last edited by sam o nela : 10-14-07 at 07:42 PM. |
