NALM '08 - East Wins!, East Flops!, It's a Free For All!
Here we are, the morning after the NALM bid deadline. I should be smoking a cigarette - but I’m not. Due to the lack of follow through from the East, we are extending the bid deadline for two weeks and will accept bids from anywhere in the country. If you are in the East, and you couldn’t put a bid together for one reason or another, here is your (second) chance. For all of you that wished your region could have mustered that one last vote or two to win/tie, now’s YOUR chance.
Come on folks, our forum is better than this. There were 132 votes in the poll to determine the region for the next NALM. Aren’t there at least a few of you that can put some ACTION behind all of the heated discussions that we have seen? You have until Wednesday, August 15th at 11:59 P.M. Eastern Time to submit your bid. The format is the same. Here is the original thread outlining the process: East Wins! - The NALM 2008 Location Bidding Process Begins

I would go to a Chicago or Philly/NJ/NY meet. I definitely don't have the time to go out West. I tried to put something together with Goodyear and their local track, but they didn't seem interested. I could try to hit up Summit Racing and see if they'll set us up a Norwalk, which Summit just purchased.

Damnit. I just let it slip through our fingers. I doubt we can compete head to head with the west coast guys. I'm ashamed of myself.

^indeed, but i just wanted to mention a quick car oriented stuff.
plus, there are a bunch of smaller parks around that would be more cost effective. . and Speed zone, ive never been there. . . dragsters that go to 70 in less than 2 seconds. . . |

And guys - keep in mind that it doesn't have to be perfectly planned out to the second, and presented in nicest format to win. What we're looking for is people who put some thought into the entire weekend, and tried to plan enough stuff to make us all happy for 3 days. At this point, we'd accept a bid handwritten on bar napkins and faxed over... ![]()
