Will be there...

Well, my son finally got my Legend back from Florida on his way to NYC. Put Work wheels back on yesterday and need to detail, but won't have time to install my JDMs and HIDs before the meet. Oh well.
Also, won't be able to show up until sometime Friday as it now stands, so no joining the caravan for me.
See you there!

A friend of mine is coming with me. So I guess add another person to any dinner reservations or anything else that this might affect. Does he have to pay any registration type fee?

So long as your friend isn't participating in any of the events, no fee should be needed.

If anyone is interested in splitting a room with my snoring badness at the meet, let me know. I already have a reservation made at the hotel and my wife just had to back out of the trip. I'm betting I asked for a King bed... but we can see if that's flexible if someone surfaces.

My entire room is up for grabs now as I'm going to room with Alex. I'll wait until 4:30 PM CST to cancel it in case someone needs it. Bueller?

Ok guys. My car is as ready as its ever going to be but there is a hitch. I have a leak in my power steering system. Took about 3 months to go from the "upper level" to the "lower level". I got a bottle to top it off last week hoping it wasn't a leak and today the level was back at lower level again. I'm not sure if this disqualifies me from the auto-x, but if it doesn't, it may mean I forfeit based on your input.

I'm bringing the PS bottle with me along with a full compliment of road trip supplies: coolant, jumper battery, full tool kit and oil. Any input on the PS fluid issue is welcome. I hope the leak won't get any worse, but you never know. Whats the worst case scenario if the system runs dry? No power steering? Or worse?

I think OEM is the best look. I just don't happen to think any of the various arrangements of OEM got it exactly right all at once

thats a pretty slow leak. i think you'll be alright. its not like you'll be leaving a qt of fluid all over the track.

if it runs dry, you'll lose power steering. the pump and rack will wear slightly more, mostly the pump.

I will leave a bottle of some great power steering stop leak at the hotel. I will leave it for Blackend since he is getting there first. The SCCA will only disqualify you if they see a decent leak during tech inspection. Before tech wipe around the leak with a rag and you will be just fine.
