Anyone here had complication with grades??

I took 2 classes for winter session: psychology which I got an 'A' and history which I got an 'F'! I don't understand why. On midterms I got a 87% and a 83%. Even if I fail the final exam worst grade I should get is a 'D'. I didn't miss any class/quizzzes. But literally my heart skipped a beat when I found out that I received an 'F'. This spring semester is my last b4 I transfer to UCSD. I'm thinking she bubbled in the wrong grade or messed up in recording the final exam grade somehow. It's friday and this is making me really nervous b/c I can't do anything till next mon/tues. Anybody had similar experience?

yeah...sorta...I got gipped on grades a few time...but i never cared about my gpa...so I just let it go. But a 'f' is a different story...you dont even get credit for that.

Just talk to the professor...I know lots of people that argued their grades up atleast 1 whole point...aka C to a B

good luck

I would email the teacher, and be sincere about it. It usually helps.

Also depends on how much your final was...if it weighed 60% of your total points, then it could happen....i know

Does the teacher grade on a bell-curve?

If you are not familiar with it.... it can be a nasty thing. They put everyone into pre-defined groups. Everyone could get 80's and 90's and there could still be 5-10% of the class failing. It can work to your advantage in a hard class..... but if you have a class full of brains then you are in trouble....

no bell curve. Very simple scale: 90 above A, 80 above B... so on.
Also midterms were: 25% of final grade each
Final: 35%
attendance/quizzes/misc: 15% (I aced all the quizzes!)
I'm gonna talk to my professor tomorrow. I worked my ass off during the winter session(6 wks long!) taking 2 classes, total of 6 semester units! This is really pissin me off.

OMFG I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN!!! I took a government class at a community college and I KNOW I ACED the exam. THe professor went on a vacation to australia after that and I could never get in touch with him. I attempted many times by going back to the college, but it never worked. It turned out that the professor never graded my exam so he gave me an F some how. GRRRRR. 120 bucks and half a semester wasted.

If I were you I'd contact the professor and have a talk with him/her face to face to see what you did wrong.
