Exclamation BMW 9-Series -- FUGLY!! ... & the new BMW 3-Series Convertible -- BEAUTIFUL!!

... I think BMW has done it to themselves ... it must be mass suicide or something.... it's sort of the same tactics, if not worse than what Nissan is doing with all their next generation vehicles (except [imo] the 350z, G35 Coupe, FX35/45, M45, Murano)...

Featuring the 970 iL ... TA DA!!

But, here's definitely something they are doing right... I'd love it, if I could afford it... the updated BMW 3-Series Convertible

The 970 looks almost like the Aztek SUV, which is one of the ugliest vehicles I've ever seen.

As for the 3-series convertible.... you guys take the car... I'll keep the babe behind the wheel..

if all goes well i will have that in 2, maybe 3 years. i am glad they are not changing the style too much. i will not buy a used car (unless it is my dad's best friends 2002 bmw 540i) so an m3 is pretty much probably going to be out of reach for me for a little while.

Maybe I'm not paying attention, but the only thing different about the 3 conv. that caught my eye was the fact that it uses the sedan's headlights rather than the coupe's.

Yea but the Legend is starting to get boring....maybe cuz I have'nt driven her in 2 weeks... but overall I am getting to the point where putting all these mods on a 10 year old car is fruitless. Theres a ton of other reasons why I want this car but we'll see....

I think bmw lags with that on purpose, like back in 92 the model changed for the sedans first, then coupes and convertables later, same with 99, 2000 was the first new coupe design. I like the older 2000+ model headlights more.

I'm not sure I'll buy another 3 series BMW. M3 is one thing, maybe even a 330 is not bad, but other than that I'm not really feeling the whole BMW thing as much. Granted, I only have an E36 325i, but while it does have some decent performance, that is not my main concern. I much rather have my Legend ever the E36 thats for sure. The New E46 and newer is much better, but I rather have a Lexus. I think in a out 2 years I'm dumping the 325i and we are going for the Lexus GS400/430 that we rather have. After coming from a Legend Coupe, I think the only BMW choice that would satisfy a previous owner would be a 5 series or M series.

I dunno Chris theres a lot of new things coming out for the new 3 series in 2004. I'm sure you know what they are (i.e 6speed, 235hp, adaptive headlights/braklelights etc) the BMW also holds its value much better then any other car as well the look/feel of european design. Granted the Lexus are nice car but the bmw is def. the ultimate driving machine in my opinion. But that is all a matter of opinion. I personally am getting tired of the japanese cars. Everyone tries to hook it up and make it look more european etc. Its def. a very different crowd (euro vs japanese). I am feinging to switch over..

Look for me to be getting a new 330 soon....

The 3 series has had very good resale, but going down the line they lose alot of value until you get to the 8 series. The 7 series have one of the worst resales. I dont think the 3 series resale will be as good as they have been in the past, cause the competition is alot stiffer now. Every manufacturer is more sport oriented than before, whereass bmw was ahead of its time and sometimes still is the competition is taking risks that they havent in the past. The lexus lineup has very good resale throughout the model lineup, sometimes more than deseving in my eyes ...example es300. Ridiculous for a hyped up camry, but the quality is there.

I love the E36 M3's and the newer E46's. The E46 M3 is and probably will be for a very long time one of my absolute favorite obtainable cars. I can't wait till them drop down to about $25-30k. I'm getting one for sure then, such a ridiculously timeless design. The E36 M3 is incredible too, you have to drive one to appreciate it.... my mom has one, but it's a sedan and automatic (worst combination). Still a ton of fun to drive and I can only imagine how much better the 5-spd coupe is (or better yet, the euro 6-spd coupe).
