Boxing Day... What a RIOT!!!

Don't ask me why I was compelled to wake up at 6am this morning to try and get in on some Boxing Day deals.... but I did...

Went to FutureShop with hopes of grabbing one of ten 27" Samsung Flat-Screen TVs for $199.99.... At that price, who could resist... So I'm driving to the store and the closer I get, the more cars I see... At 6:45am, there must have been 300 people already waiting in line... There was NO WAY I was going to get one of the ten TVs... So when they finally started letting people in, everyone rushed as usual... By the time even got in the store, all ten were gone. Those who were fortunate to grab one were sitting on them and/or hugging them as if they were a loved one... Pathetic. Anyways, just as I was about to leave and admit the fact that I'd been beat, I see another pile of 27" TVs that people were curiously staring at. Conveniently, all the computers were down which made for an even more eventful morning.

Anyways, I grab one of the boxes and too claim it as my own and managed to grab one of the sales accociates for a price check. The TV I was sitting on was $160 dollars more than the $199.99 special I had originally came for. That being said, I wasn't leaving empty handed so I figured I'd grab this TV plus a MP3/USB drive I had my eyes on earlier... This store was so chaotic, I figured, what's an extra $160.00 anyways. As I waited for someone to either passout from a heart-attack or change their mind about the $199.99 TV, I struck up a conversation with an INDIAN fellow who greedily managed to grab TWO of the TVs that were on sale. After shooting the sh*t with him for a bit, I learnt that him and his buddies go to these Boxing Day sales every year, each scoping out the best deals, them swarming the place, each taking a section of the store and grabbing everything before anyone else can get them.

Anyways, to make a long story short... As I waited in the mile long cashiers like to purchase my more expensive TV, he came over to me and asked me if I was still interested in the cheaper one since the greedy ******* realized he didn't really need two TVs in the first place. With a quick reply of HELL YEH, I managed to purchase the brand new 27" TV and got what I came for (which is very unlikely on Boxing Day)... And I lived happily ever after

The Moral of the Story: Its pays to be Brown! Hahaha

PS: Happy Boxing Day Shopping!

as some of you may know i am currently in london, england on vacation. i went out today after seeing all the boxing day ads on tv. we went to oxford street which is a big shopping area and surprisingly a lot of the stores were closed (a stupid idea considering how many people there were). anyways, i am glad you were lucky, i didn't really get anything considering most of the stores i wanted to go to were closed.
