the Coolest thing...

I was at my friends house removing my engine and we started gibberjabbing about his cars he's got.

a 69 firebird he's rebuilding from the ground up, he's got a pontiac 2+2 (supposedly extremely rare) he's building that too. and a 70 duece-n-a-quarter (buick Electra 225).

okay to put it lightly he's got some mean cars sitting out here. the electra is what kept catchin my eye. it's just large as heck...i thought it was cool. it's volvo gold (that weird gold they made in like 1999 or whatever) and is sitting stock.

the most i knew about Dueces was what the Comedian said about them. pretty much indestructable. It looks like you could put it through a brick wall at 100 and come out the otherside at 110

Well, i just did some lookin up on this thing...it's a mean mama jamma!

the COOLEST thing!!!!

http://www.72electra.com/1970.htm

read the article...it's the first 4 pictures on that page. That thing is GREAT!

notice where the front tire is on the 4th page when the car is taking off...then notice that the car is on STREET TIRES!

that thing is AWESOME...it doesn't look half bad either...it would sit nicely on a set of 22s

my friend said 18s or 20s for his.

this is just for size reference...

car is HUGE!

EDIT:

this is what a 66 2+2 looks like

Didn't the Electra come w/ a the 409. I can't remember, but those engines are bad mo fo's.

I've seen one of those things at a car show and they are huge. I'd like to see the police try to fish tail one of those things w/ a crown vic

The '72 Electra had a 455. My grandfather had one back when I was in H.S. I used to drive it once in a while. Kinda fun for what it was.

My friend has a 1968 ford Galaxy... it's about that size. That thing is so freaking HUGE!
Had to take that pic form about a mile away to get it in! and yeah, it's a convertible, supposed to be rare in that year or something. Either way, I love riding in that sucka.

Just think of parking that biatch in a busy parking lot. I respect it greatly but would rather ride a bike.

i saw a few raised and wheeled cars take off from a light...i promise you, those things woulda have whooped up on me in the Legend. they were QUICK! but just thinking of trying to park it does make me a bit "itchy" i've parked with ease a 1987 Grand Marquis. nothing to it. but these boys...they seem to be quite a bit bigger than that marquis

Nice car, doesn't compare to my first car 1975 Caddilac Sedan Deville soft top. I had it for about a year and it never once fit in our garage It had a nice 500 CID motor but slow as balls but damn the torque was great.

i do remember the old cadillacs with the 500+ engines. those were only as slow as the person who owned it. those things can be fast as heck if you decide to modify it.
