Crap... US Navy is after me!

man.. I signed up for the Selective Service last week... since I had to, and today some Sergant calls me up, and starts brain washing me into joining the Navy!!! I told him multiple times that I wasn't really interested to join it out of my own free will, but the guy won't let go off my nuts!! I was on the phone with him for like 10 minutes.. he gave me like all these serveys.. started asking me what I wanted to do in the future.. etc, and for everything I said, he had a clever remark on why I should join - he got me like into a dead end corner a few times, the guy is freaken good!! I have to hand it to him, he's one persistant dude... I had to set up an appointment with him for next week just so he'd let me go!!! He should seriously be out there seeling something, he'd be rich as hell

GRRRRRR!!

Has this happened to anyone here???
If so, what in the hell should I tell him at the appointment, so he'd leave me alone??

Seriously... like, I'd say something being DAMN sure that was the end of it.. I mean, something final so he'd leave me alone.. and he'd turn it completely around into some **** on how I should join - getting me completely off guard going like "uhhhhhhhhh....." not knowing what to say...

Man, he's gonna bury me at the appointment - I'm freaking out big time

They've called me many many times. I think the army finally gave up, but just today I got another thing in the mail from the navy. They called me recently too. I always say that I know exactly what I am going to do in the future, how Im going to pay for it, and that the military doesnt fit in my plans.

Another thing, if you have friends that are joining or recently joined, expect some more calls because they have to give the recruiters some names whenever theyre in town.

Ryans law has some oficial name but all I know is that I am my mothers only surviving son, and she depends on me, therefore I cannot be drafted for any military activities. The movie saving Private Ryan is like, a hyped up version of what brought that law about

Maybe, I get away with it because my mother is disabled and I am her PCA (Personal Care Aide) and I pay some of the living expenses. I am also over thier weight limit (220 lbs) so I also have that to fall back on.

Just tell them no and that you are late for work so you have to go. Don't sign anything if you don't want to join. If he asks you what you want to do when you gow up just tell him you want to be like Bill Gates and become a billionaire without graduating from collage and to start your own business with your own genious

Tell them you have a full scholarship to USC or some college and they'll leave you alone. It worked for my cousin when they were trying to recruit him in the mall....hahaha. And it wasn't a lie either

You have to remember that the only reason this recruiter is not on a ship heading out is that he makes his quota. Just say, "No thank you" and hang up. No one can make you remain on the telephone. Of course, you can also tell him you just found out you have a life-threatening illness such as .... what are those three letters???

What’s wrong with – I’m not interested!

You don’t have to go to any appointment. Call and cancel (at night if necessary to avoid talking to him - leave a message)

The Navy is not interested in someone who doesn’t want to be there. So if you are not interested, tell the recruiter and be forceful. You don’t have to say “no thank you”, just say “NO! and please don’t call again”. You might mention that you find his continual calling “harassment” and ask who you can contact to complain about his recruiting tactics.

I got drafted (and ended up spending 30 great years in the Navy). But you have a choice. Don’t be talked into something you don’t want to do.
