calm down and take a deep breathe. you got a long way to go. my parents use to treat me the same when i was younger but now they actually respect me and treat me like an adult.
Whatever it is, just take it easy and no matter how much u want to die, eventually when u get older you'll think back "boy was i wrong"

Ken,
We all love you here. Your parents only treat you that way because they worry about you. I know you are an intelligent and bright young man- not kid, young man. You know what you are doing and where you want to go. Just put that in the back of your mind when you are feeling down. XXOO Sara

LOL, my mom used to treat me like sh1t alot of the time. I know she meant well, but she has admitted she was a bit harsh raising me (also, I am the first child and she was the first child, so I had to be raised to a stricter standard...) But I remember most of my other korean friends their korean dads were just brutal with them. Maybe it is an asian thing. Ken, the best advice I can give is take note of all the crap your parents do that offends you, and promise yourself you will not do the same to your kids. That's what I did a couple years ago when I found out my wife was pregnant--Someone gave me that advice, and it is good advice, because if you don't, you'll be *just* like your parents when you "grow up". I'm not saying my parents were bad parents, just if I had to do it over, I would do it my way. As long as your parents mean well, just roll with it. Try and put yourself in their shoes--It doesn't necessarily make them right, or make your life easier, but understanding where they are coming from is an enlightening thing. And come on out here and b*tch about it, I'm sure we all have some stories to tell about being raised!

everyone will experience up's and down's in their lives, you may thing they treat you like crap but more than likely they love you. just give it a breather and some time, it's true, as you get older you start to earn the respect you deserve, no need to go out and harm yourself or not care about dying. again, think about who you would effect if you did end up gone the next day. just keep your head up...ive had bad times in my life but just keep it strong. im not a religous person but i did go to church for the first time in years when i was down and it did help somewhat with having some faith in something.

Ken... man what are your parents exactly doing that is making you so upset?
And like all these guys said... and ontop of that you are by far the most mature 13 year old I have EVER seen. If anybody can deal with some problems it would be you.

Ken, being a parent is a tough job because all you want is the best for your kids and what we think is the best and what you think is best don't always agree. Matter of fact, they usually don't. Just trust that your parents are trying to help and listen to what they tell you.
Us old people really do know what we are talking about. It just sounds like we don't to you right now. You'll appreciate this when you have kids of your own.

Ken, I know your feeling. When I was about your age I was the man of the house and I had two sisters one mother and a huge house to take care of. You are at a point when things will seem really hard and confusing, but if you just give it a few more years you will see it turning around. At that point you will also be suprised how upset you got over things that seem trivial at that point. I gess what I am trying to say is just hold on for a little longer. Listen to your parents, but never lose your opinion. They might not listen to you now, but you are not to far from the point where they will. I wish you the best of luck.
Later! Lee |

Im 21 and my parents still try to run my life. My mom is a control freak, and I am her oldest. They dont realize that at some point, they have to let go and let me make my decisions, right or wrong, on my own. That is one of the hardest things for parents. Hope things get better man. I could talk about my problems on here, but i think you would all get depressed just reading it. My friends are all like, damn man, i dont know how you even make it thru a whole day.

We don't know the whole story about you, so I can't make any judgments. It depends also in your culture, many parents believe on spanking the child for DISCIPLINE, But others believe that its is BEATING UP. Maybe im off topic here, but just remember that your parents love you and you shouldn't hurt yourself, because you'll be hurting others too.
