Damn I remember when my dad was going through his Miami Vice Phase (I know pretty embarrassing) in 1984 or something - he had a car phone/briefcase phone in Porsche and would pimp on it when women were watching.

He thought he was the Asian Don Johnson and my mom would call the show Miami "ADVICE"- HAHAHAHAH

My dad wore his pastel linen suits (roll up the sleeves) and his huarache sandals with NO socks!!! He slicked back his hair and tilted his sunglasses at women and said "Helllllooooooo ladies." He would tell me "all the bitches love me." WOOOOW!!

I was so embarrassed. He still does to this day and he's 65!! But now he shouts because he's losing his hearing.

Make mine 4! One of the only canadian ones?
I dont have any pictures, but take my word for it!
The previous owner took out the phone but left the internals... my phone had a visible mic poking out from the driver side pillar.
when my alarm was installed i asked them to remove that along with whatever else they found... which turned out to be that speaker that is shown in the pics
the only thing i have left of the car phone system is the rear window antenna, and thats going soon enough as well

An interesting side note, my steering wheel control doesnt say Audo/Tel. and im pretty sure i dont have the 'mode' button.... Dealer installed maybe?

yea, that's what i meant people have bits and pieces or after market style carphones...

the REAL carphone is rare...even more rare when it's still complete and intact.

only 3 people so far have the complete systems in the cars that power up.

If you didn't have the mode button it wasn't factory

I think it might have been aftermarket.

EDIT:

I say three because, sadly, Eli's sedan was totaled some time ago. and the system did not survive, though Eli has made a full recovery!! Only ones left are NoRegrets' 95 Coupe here, Joey's 95 Coupe, and ArizonaLegend's Sedan that are still functional (to my knowledge)

If anyone has theirs in the car with all the trimmings, from the factory, post up

even though the technology is basically obsolete, i wouldnt get rid of mine for the world.

I need a antenna, as the guy who owned the car before us was a complete freak and was afraid that if the phone still worked he would get charged out the ying yang (so he removed the antenna, go figure.) I wouldnt mind having a little RC antenna off the back glass, especially when the factory antenna is removed, opps who said that
