Australia is FUN! Was just there in Aug 07 for almost a month and it was a blast of a trip!! It's pricey for staples like food and gas. But beer is cheap and that's where my sister lives so accommodation was cheap too! My best explanation would be that it feels like a laid back UK in the cities and like Jamaica with white people out in the country (especially the coast). I lost my damn passport in the outback (bouncing around in an FJ60, better than wadi-bashing , my passport flew out of my back pocket and I didn't even know it . Customer service at the US Consulate in Melbourne is top-notch btw!! Oh and if you're into it diving the GBF is a lifetime experience!!

Exactly my friend, I was buffled as well ...CR is still my #1 pick and the 14 1/2 hours flight is NOT so unusual for us, as flight to the Philippine Islands <=my native land, can sometime take 15-16 hours; depending on the jet stream direction.

I guess every woman goes through that phase ...the Mrs did the same exact thing back in the early 90's, but eventually got over that urge

Can't comment on UK, Jamaica <= Carribean as a whole, we did all that in the mid-to-late 90's through Sandals Resort I believe; all inclusive crap that they offer. I'll have to pass on the diving part; great barrier reef + warm waters = sharks?!? j/k ...I just had a very bad experience scuba diving in the Hawaiian Islands and promised meself to NOT do it ever again. I blame the mai-tai

Screw the meter maids wearing bikini $hit$... I see all of 'em every year at the AVN convention in LV, but IF we ever decide to go Australia, I'd just go to the outback and find me some butt naked Aborigines

I really appreciate ALL your inputs fellas... especially you Sam

You my friend, actually had a lot to do with the Mrs decision making... after being with this woman for 20+ years, I've learn to pick/recognize stuff once presented, now this was NOT easy. I know you gave me something; ammo if you may, on your 3'rd reply I believe

Had the Mrs read the above "particular paragraph" and she just smiled... right then and there, I knew she was sold for CR.

Once again Sam... thank you!
