I should sell my car, look at this eBay auction

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Acura...cmdZ ViewItem

8 grand?

With 210k+ miles? A shitty body kit, nasty rims, and dents and crap all over?

And the freaking salvage title!

What are people thinking?

Those are some nasty rims and an ugly body kit. I should sell mine if this is the going rate.

I don't know what's wrong with people man, it seems that people lately don't even follow the Blue Book and that's the first place I look. Like today, I was looking at some used 300zx twin turbos and the Blue Book said that in good condition with 150,000 miles that it should go for ~$5-6k yet they were asking closer to 8-10k. Now I know a good twin turbo 300zx is sort of rare, but can you tell me how a car with a few dents, fading paint, and 150,000 miles (not to mention it's MSRP back in it's day was cheaper than a Legend LS Coupe) can sell for that much?

Wow. That price is indeed outrageous. I was following an auction last week on that 6-speed swapped green coupe as well, and it got overpriced too IMO. I guess it's worth what anyone will pay...

Blue book just makes me cry.

Trade in on my coupe is around $4500. I'll keep it thanks.

blue book values are not aproximations of market value.
A car that has been well taken care of by a knowlegeable enthusiast will sell for way higher than Blue Book value ... but only to another enthusiast.

blue book is not that accurate anyways, nada and even edmunds are usually more accurate... or at least an average of the three. they vary widely, often by a thousand dollars on the same car, but i think overall kbb is the least highly regarded

On the second thought, I think its all shill bidding. Alot of that on eBay Motors because there is no final value percentage fee. If you look, all the bidders are 0 feedback, and one has outbid himself three times.

I understand that the KBB isn't very reliable. But, if it lists a car at 200k miles and in Excellent condtion to be worth $5-6k, then unless like Stu said it's from one enthusiast to another, that car should not be marked up by 100%.
