That maybe so, but this has been a really cool winter in GA. We had snow twice in one year, which supposedly hasnt happened in like 5 years, and for it to snow, it has to be cold.

I'll make no claim to either "believe" or "disbelieve" man-made global warming. There are so many reasons to reduce pollutants and quit burning dinosaur bones that it should be irrelevant what your thoughts are on global warming.
But B+O is right, taking year to year comparisons is pointless, and even decade-decade comparisons aren't really enough to get data from. People on both sides of the debate try to do that, obviously depending on whether the year was warm or cold.
By the same token it is also fairly narrow viewed to look at the temperature in cities specifically. Besides carbon dioxide there is something else produced in excess in urban areas - everything we use generates waste energy in the form of heat. From a strictly heat transfer point of view you'd expect cities to be warmer in absence of a greenhouse effect as well. I'm not saying that's necessarily what the cause is, nor am I saying it isn't greenhouse related, but it's aggravating to be inundated with these arguments.
Day by day, my confidence in the survival of this nation lessens substantially Unfortunately, with global warming I can't just move to Europe and escape the effects of population's mass stupidity.
PS: CFC's were possibly the contributing factor to the cooling trend from the 1940's-1970's, at which time the use of CFC's was limited.
its global climate change because no ones knows which way its going, hotter or colder. they keep changing their stories every 30 years or so.

Yo, guys... my uncle is one of the foremost researchers on Global Warming. He's got a Ph.D. in meteorology works for NOAA and has international acclaim for his work with El Nino and global warming; this is what he studies.
He tells me that every computer model predicts that within 50 years, our earth will be (average surface temperature) 10 degrees C warmer if the rate at which we continue to introduce carbon dioxide into our atmosphere continues at 1% growth per year.
These, "coldest year ever recorded" memos neglect to look at the overall trend, and that is... UP!
I'm sure many of you remain skeptic, and that's partly the fault of our government for lying about how big of an issue this is, but realize that this situation is predicted in every computer model, and by meterologists everywhere.
Just hoping to impart knowledge straight from the source... Cheers, guys!

Wow... can I be his friend? I got a PhD too!

Yeah... your uncle must really be ahead of the curve since all climate computer models today can't accurately predict anything more that 48 hours in advance.
If they could, we would not have any problems that we're having down south right now.

And so should you.

Not exactly. In fact there is no agreement in the scientific community at all because the human kind has been looking at this issue for relatively short period of time and no long history of measurements is available.
Couple this with the fact lab experiments are not good approximations of actual reactions systems in the atmosphere, and what you have is a very poor understanding of what is going on and where this is going.
